February Wrap Up

Welp, it’s the last day of February. Yipee! I am proud to say that I finished 5 books this month. I could have read more but I also work, watch anime for my fan page on Facebook (which is here if you want to come join us: https://www.facebook.com/TheOfficialAnimePage/?ref=bookmarks), and I threw in some new Netflix’s shows into the mix. So I say reading 5 books in one month is pretty alright. I am content to say the least.

You guys know the drill for Wrap Up’s! I will be posting which books I read, a rating out of 5 stars, and if I would recommend these books to anyone else. Pretty simple and easy. I try to keep these particularly short because I want everyone to come to their own conclusions when reading new books. Other people’s opinions will only take you so far. Like I have said many times before one person may love something while someone else might hate it. So…go forth my pack and pick a novel that you might enjoy personally! 🙂

1. Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan

reign-of-shadowsRating: 5 out of 5 (but I would definitely rate it higher!)
Would I recommend? I am going to keep recommending this book until people get sick of me talking about it!!! So far it has been my favorite book I have read.

2. Rise of Fire by Sophie Jordan

rise-of-fireRating: 5 out of 5 (Yes, this is the sequel to Reign of Shadows)
Would I recommend? Please see above comments.

3. The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black

dpfRating: 5 out of 5
Would I recommend? One of the best dark fantasy novels I have read in a long time. If you love folklore or fairy tales then this is the book for you! I can’t wait to read Holly Black’s other novel.

4. Poison’s Kiss by Breeana Shields

poisons-kissRating: 3.85 out of 5
Would I recommend? I felt like I didn’t give this book a fair chance when I started reading it. It has a good premise but I thought it was just okay in the beginning. It definitely got better towards the end. I wish it would have given me a bit more though.

5. Gemini by Sonya Mukherjee

gemini-1Rating: 4.25 out of 5
Would I recommend? This book is more contemporary with a unique concept idea. I liked the story and it was a fun read. I guess I’ve been more into dark fantasy novels lately so nothing else really compares. This is a light easy read if you are looking for something simple and engaging. It has some really funny moments too!

What books did you finish in the month of February? Let me know in the comments section! What are you looking forward to reading for the month of March? So many great books came out in February that I am going to have to play catch up.
