Series Sunday: Sword Art Online

Hello my pack! For some of you who have been following me for a little while now you guys know that I am a HUGE anime fan. Besides books, anime has been my other passion in life. I grew up with it and it has rooted itself into my heart forever ❤ I was very fortunate to go to the one night premier of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale on Thursday AND BY GOLLY! I am so glad I saw this movie! It was EVERYTHING and MORE! Sword Art Online (also known as SAO) is a series I have been following ever since the first arc came out. It is one I know and love oh so much! This series gets a lot of flack from other people in the anime community but IDGAF! I like what I like and everyone else can suck it! Haha.

So today I thought I would post the synopsis of this anime…maybe a few gifs and the trailer to get some of you guys interested in watching it! I was thinking this could be a regular occurring post on Sunday’s with each post being a new series…with the occasional blathering from me about the show…cause you guys know I’m super good at that 😉 I just love to share my passion for anime because of how much it means to me. Also, it is WAAAYYY better than some of the other garbage shown on TV. Anime is something I think everyone can get behind. Anime has some of the best story-lines I have ever seen (and no…I’m not bragging just because I enjoy it so much).

So without further ado…here is the synopsis and trailer for Sword Art Online (P.S. the trailer is English dubbed and I HATE it…I prefer subbed lol):

“In the year 2022, virtual reality has progressed by leaps and bounds, and a massive online role-playing game called Sword Art Online (SAO) is launched. With the aid of “NerveGear” technology, players can control their avatars within the game using nothing but their own thoughts.

Kazuto Kirigaya, nicknamed “Kirito,” is among the lucky few enthusiasts who get their hands on the first shipment of the game. He logs in to find himself, with ten-thousand others, in the scenic and elaborate world of Aincrad, one full of fantastic medieval weapons and gruesome monsters. However, in a cruel turn of events, the players soon realize they cannot log out; the game’s creator has trapped them in his new world until they complete all one hundred levels of the game.

In order to escape Aincrad, Kirito will now have to interact and cooperate with his fellow players. Some are allies, while others are foes, like Asuna Yuuki, who commands the leading group attempting to escape from the ruthless game. To make matters worse, Sword Art Online is not all fun and games: if they die in Aincrad, they die in real life. Kirito must adapt to his new reality, fight for his survival, and hopefully break free from his virtual hell.”

I hope my enthusiasm for anime isn’t too overwhelming on you guys! I know this site is usually for books but I thought this would be a fun thing to do. I like throwing in bits and pieces of myself for you guys to read about. It feels like we can connect on a more personal level (even if it is through a computer/phone screen).
