It’s been a little while since I wrote a blog for you all. I’ve been busy working and packing up my life (which isn’t a lot but it sure as hell feels like it). I am gearing up to move next week…if everything goes according to plan. So my blog post might have to take a back seat until I get settled into my new home. I’m sure you guys will understand 😉
I was over on Hailey in Bookland’s YouTube channel again and I was inspired to do this “characterize me” tag so to speak. Hailey goes over the female characters in YA literature that she feels best represents her as a person. I thought…why the heck not! You can watch her original video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82v4tYg5FL8&t=261s. And don’t forget to also click that subscribe button!
My first pick of course goes to Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games. Her strength, tenacity, and perseverance are ALL things I admire about Katniss. Throughout the books I could relate to her trial and errors. Life is one big game but you have to buckle up and fight your way through it…and that is EXACTLY what Katniss did.
My second choice goes to Luna from Reign of Shadows. GOD how I love Luna oh so much! She is one character I wish I could be. She is brave, witty, pretty and even BLIND…but do you think that stops her? N to the freakin’ O! Hahaha…I appreciate characters that have an aliment. It goes to show you that even with a handicap someone can still be kick ass! Luna is definitely a girl to be reckoned with! ❤
My third choice would be Arsinoe from Three Dark Crowns. Just like Katniss and Luna, Arsinoe has a blunt and off kilter sense of humor. She is sassy and SHE KNOWS IT! I like a girl who can command attention. She has an inner strength she is not quite aware of yet, but I am sure we will see more of it in One Dark Throne. I can’t wait to read more of this deliciously dark tale.
The fourth spot for this list is Rhine from The Chemical Garden Trilogy. Rhine is the type of character that survives no matter what happens to her. She is a fighter just like all the other ladies I have picked so far. I guess I like strong driven women who can go the distance. I feel like I have an affinity of strength that helps with my life choices. I don’t always listen to it, but when I do I go for whatever I want. That is how Rhine is! She had a goal and she set out to reach it.
This last one might come as a bit of a surprise. I really really admire Isabel from The Shiver Series. I see myself in Grace, but not as much as Isabel. Isabel is the rebel without a cause. She is a smart-ass, independent, cold exterior but we all know deep down she is a softie. I am like that sometimes. I put on this front where I seem like a complete bad ass, but I’m really a whiny cry baby that has a hard time dealing with emotional issues. The same could be said of Isabel and I think that’s why I like her so much. She deserves to be admired 🙂
Which characters do you relate to most? Are they strong, brave, or courageous? Do they fight for themselves or do they fight for others? What do you admire most about them? Let me know in the comments! I would love to hear which characters you enjoy reading about.
