If you guys are anything like myself, then you my friend are a wishful thinker! Or you’re just a greedy son of a bitch who wants all the anime content possible. I think it might be the latter of the two. XD
I am here today to talk to you about the otaku related content (i.e. manga, music videos, anime comics, etc.) that I want to see on the small screen. You know, us viewers begging production studios to procure them into an anime series or shows. Start groveling my followers! I know we all want this at some point in our mundane lives. We are assholes like that. We want, want, want without giving anything in return. Maybe that’s why the term “millennials” has such a big impact on us. People want something for nothing, but that isn’t how this works my pandas! You gotta give a little to get a little. That’s why I try to buy as much anime/manga as possible. I also go see anime movies in theaters when they come out. We all need to support the anime industry one way or another!
But back to the topic at hand.
I always get a little giddy inside when I find out something I adore and love oh so much is getting made into a show. It is like the heavens have parted and the light has decided to shine down upon my devilish soul. I would like to think the universe listens to me sometimes. Maybe I’m just delusional. Yes…probably neurotic and hallucinating from too much caffeine. *Takes another sip of coffee*
DON’T JUDGE ME!
*Gives the stink eye*
Yeah…I see you. I see you boo.
Bahaha. Plz send halp. I need more friends. I’m so lonely and I need to do something with my life besides work all the time…S.O.S 😛
The first choice on this list is Porter Robinson’s Shelter. No surprise there! I think (almost) everyone wants to see this music video become a full length feature. With over 19 million views, Shelter became an instant hit over night. Here is the synopsis for the music video:
“Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins behind her life inside a simulation.”
With its captivating visuals, music, and feelings Shelter is one for the books. This music video takes you on one hell of an emotional roller coaster. I think I’ve watched this music video more than a dozen times and listened to the song more than I could possible count. If you still haven’t seen Shelter yet (you must be living under a fucking rock…just kidding) then check it out down below!
Next up on this list is the manga Beatless: Dystopia by Kagura Uguisu (Art) & Satoshi Hase (Story). If this art style looks similar to another anime/manga then you are correct (again)! This is a collaboration between Hase and Redjuice. BEATLESS is a collaborative sci-fi fantasy work between sci-fi novelist Satoshi Hase and illustrator redjuice. Dystopia was drawn by Kagura Uguisu. Redjuice did the art for the hugely popular manga Guilty Crown. Hence why the artwork is very similar in texture and context. This is also the reason why I want to see Beatless become an anime. I LOVE Guilty Crown beyond belief! I have started to get more involved with sci-fi or anything to do with aliens. Maybe I’ll get abducted one day! That would be legit.
Here is the synopsis for Beatless: Dystopia:
“I believe in that smile. Even if you don’t have a soul.
2105 A.D. Japan
The humanoid android hiE became part of people’s life and was handling the things human could and couldn’t do. Endou Arato, unlike his friends Kenko and Ryou who hate hiE, felt sympathy for hiE which are supposed to be just objects. One night, Arato suddenly gets assaulted by mysterious falling cherry blossoms that make hiE and machines run havoc. Will the cornered Arato be saved by the mysterious hiE Lacia…”
This next choice shouldn’t come as a surprise to some of you (well…maybe), but I totally want to see Killing Stalking made into an anime! Killing Stalking is a manhwa created by Koogi over on https://www.lezhin.com/en/comic/killingstalking. This manhwa contains adult content including depictions of sexual content and violence. So this may not be suited to some of your tastes! Personally, I love stories that are violent and fucked up. I guess my taste are pretty interesting so to speak. I can go from sweet/innocent stories to shit that is so violent and mind boggling you might think I was secretly a psychopath. I swear I’m not! *Scoots box of weapons into closet* Tehehe.
My favorite anime bae Akidearest covered this manhwa over on her channel not too long ago. She did an in depth review of Killing Stalking and it’s pretty great. She even covered the second part! You can check both of these videos out down below! (Warning: Be prepared for some crazy ass content!)
Last up is another recommendation that comes from Akidearest herself. I want to see Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku (The Gods Lie) come to fruition. But I want to see this as a featured film not an anime! It is a standalone manga and I think it would work better as an anime film. I haven’t actually picked this manga up yet but I am going to when I get paid again. The cover alone sold me! The art style is so so pretty! ❤ I NEED IT! I think if it was a movie it would make us feel all the feels.
Here is the synopsis for Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku (The Gods Lie):
“Eleven-year-old Natsuru Nanao is the ace of the soccer team, yet has trouble speaking to girls because of a certain event following his transfer to his current school. Due to his father dying long ago, he lives only with his mother but doesn’t let this distract him from his passion for soccer, as he hopes to become a professional player. One day, a female classmate named Rio Suzumura approaches Natsuru, a meeting which signals a huge turning point in his life.
Upon talking with Rio, Natsuru immediately becomes interested in her. After he saves an abandoned cat, he runs into the girl and her younger brother Yuuta on their way to the supermarket and asks if they can take care of it, to which they agree. But when Natsuru arrives at their home, he is shocked to discover that the siblings have been living alone in a dirty house, a secret which Rio absolutely wants to keep. As Natsuru spends more time with them, their circumstances and reason for secrecy are slowly brought to light.”
What are some otaku related content you want to see come to life? Have you heard about any of the choices I listed above? If so what are your thoughts on them? If not will you be checking them out at a later time? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below!
