Waiting on Wednesday-What I’m Watching Before Fall Anime Season Starts…Well Trying To Anyways

While we still have a few more days (more like 12) till fall anime season starts I’m sitting over here trying to cram in some shows in the mean time. I usually don’t do this because sometimes it seems a bit overwhelming. I hate starting a show and then never following through with it. It seems this is a curse of mine. *Sigh* I don’t know why I do this to myself…WHY?! Does anyone else have any idea? Cause I totally could use some help right meow. I know I’m not the only one who drops shows midway and then they never see the light of day again.

Yes, I’m looking at you my fellow blogger. I know that you know that I know you do this. Whew! That was a mouth full. But essentially us anime folk tend to do this when we find other shows that we like more than the other. I think it is just a thingy.

A weird obligatory thingy that NEET’s and otaku’s do when they need to focus their attention on something a bit more invigorating. Sometimes I get bored and just want some a bit more EXCITING or THRILLING…you know…something a bit more action-packed so to speak. Slow burner anime are only good if you are in the right mind set.

Lets hope that I can actually finish some of the anime on this list. I want to feel accomplished before fall anime season starts. I mean…I kind of already do since this summer season was my biggest watch list yet. But I am going for more! Go big or go home. You’ve got to risk it to get the biscuit! (Points if you know what movie reference that is from) 😛

1. 3-gatsu no Lion (March comes in like a lion)

I know I know…I am late to the party on this anime. I actually watched the first episode of 3-gatsu no Lion (March comes in like a lion) this afternoon. Can I just say I am oh so happy the Bump of Chicken did the opening and outro to this anime! Like seriously! I love them ❤ So far I am thoroughly impressed by the animation, music, tone and mood. I already knew it was going to be good (thanks to all the hype surrounding it) but I really didn’t expect it to be THAT good. Rei totally reminds be of Kousei from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso even though Rei seems a bit more morbid. Probably due to the underlying dark theme of this show. You could tell from the very first episode that something is wrong with Rei (mainly his subconscious). I hope I can blast through the first season since the second is coming out for fall.

2. Gosick

I’ve already been through a number of episodes of Gosick, but it seems my mind wandered off into some other tangible space and I forgot to watch the rest of it. See? This is what I am talking about guys! My attention gets grabbed by something else and I just forget about what I was watching previously. Maybe I have ADHD and I just don’t know it? Eh…whatever the case I’m hoping to wrap this series up. It needs to be done and over with.

3. Metropolis

I was recommended Metropolis by an old coworker of mine and I was surprised that I never heard of it. It’s an older anime film with a slight Disney vibe to it. I watched about half of the movie and then decided I would just finish it later. Well, now I am holding my self accountable to it! I’m really digging anything Sci-Fi or Steampunk at the moment. We need more anime with these types of themes. They are fresh and fun and so interesting you can’t help but like them! Gimme gimme!

4. A Letter to Momo

Here is another fun and quirky anime film! A Letter to Momo is something everyone can get behind. I love anything that deals with yokai (supernatural monsters, spirits or demons). Some of the best anime revolve around yokai…like Noragami, Kamisama Hajimemashita, and Inu X Boku SS! This is another film I watched half way through and said I would finish later. Yeah, yeah…I’m sure you guys are sick of hearing about my unfinished adventures in anime. So I’ll spare you the rest of the dets.

5. Akira

No explanation needed for this one since you guys know I like leave things unfinished. I need to finish the rest of Akira. It is a cult classic!

Is there anything you are trying to finish up before fall anime season starts? Do you also have unfinished anime sickness? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments section below!

P.S. I now have 82 followers on my blog! Thank you so much for joining me on this grand scheme of me becoming an anime blogger. It means everything to me that 82 people read my thoughts and listen to what I have to say. You guys are AMAZING! Once I reach over 100 followers I am going to do a little giveaway. My one year anniversary is coming up in December and I thought what better way to celebrate then by giving back to you all. Keep an eye out of that announcement. It will be coming very soon. 😀

  1. Some excellent choices here, particularly Akira which is honestly deserving of its status as a classic, that movie has some of the best hand drawn animation in Anime. Absolutely stunning movie, and messed up too!

March is also really great, although I haven’t finished it myself yet. I should get on that 😀

At this point its been so long and im afraid im not going to have the same feels or remember something. I also started baby step (i think its called?) And i want to go back and finish it. I only saw like 6 eps so thats fine

Anything else? Im sure I’m forgetting something but rn my priority is catching up w bnha and aot bc im lame 😛 havent really watched anything lately. Might pick up a random series tho
