I have an anime update for you guys 😀
Update as of 09/25/17: I finally finished the first season of 3-gatsu no Lion (March comes in like a Lion), Akira, and A Letter to Momo! That is 3 out of 5 on my list of “what I am watching before Fall anime season starts.” Now I just have to finish Metropolis and Gosick. I Think I’ll sneak Metropolis in tonight and maybe a few more episodes of Gosick. I also read a 218 page book yesterday so that is another WIN for me as well! *Pats self on the back*
I’m also taking a break from Facebook at the moment. I have definitely been more productive over the last two days than any other day this month. There is just too much negativity energy surrounding FB and I need to disconnect from that. I am still over on Twitter, Snap, and IG but I don’t spend as much time on those apps as I do FB. Facebook is just sucking the fun out of everything right meow. No bueno!
Today is normally Top Ten Tuesday or Topic Tuesday but I just wanted to go with something random. Didn’t want to set forth the effort or energy I guess XD *Que woe is me mentality*
So for today’s post I am going to list some anime that (I personally) think deserve more recognition. While some of these anime were quite popular when they came out you don’t see too many people talking about them on a regular basis (not like other mainstream anime). I always like rooting for “underdog” type anime. They usually turn out to be some of the best anime I have ever seen. You know…like a little hidden gem amongst all the buried treasure.
Bring on the animu!
1. Ergo Proxy
(This image can be found here: https://www.zerochan.net/1778043#full)
Ergo Proxy is one of the BEST Sci-Fi/Psychological anime I have seen. It is a slow burner anime but once you get into it you can’t help but want to know what happens next. Re-L of course is super sexy and bad ass. I also really really love Pino! She has my heart ❤ If you want a superb anime to watch then I HIGHLY suggest you give this one a go. I mean it gets a 8 out of 10 on My Anime List. (But I usually don’t count those ratings :P)
2. Dimension W
I know there is a lot of iffy-ness surrounding Dimension W, but this is one I personally enjoy. Like a lot, a lot. This one is categorized as an Action/Sci-Fi/Seinen. If you really like action anime then this is the one for you! And of course it has a totally adorable A.I. named Mira. I want to cosplay as Mira one of these days. I love her character design so so much! I think the concept, art style, and soundtrack to this anime are SPOT ON. It has some flaws and cliches but everything else makes up for that. Best work by Orange and Studio 3Hz so far!
3. Donten ni Warau (Laughing Under the Clouds)
Donten ni Warau (Laughing Under the Clouds) actually gets a pretty decent rating on My Anime List, but I know it doesn’t get talked about enough. I enjoy a good anime that can bring a little history into its story-line. Probably why I also really liked Drifters…(now there is one bad ass anime that has historical figures in it). If you want some good laughs and a little history lesson while you are at it then you should watch Donten ni Warau (Laughing Under the Clouds). My favorite characters are Shirasu and Botan! Great character design on both of them.
4. Otome Youkai Zakuro (Zakuro)
Sign me up for anything that has a fox girl in it! Otome Youkai Zakuro (Zakuro) deals with spirits (or youkai) and humans intermingling with one another in the same world. You get a little bit of everything in this anime. It’s genre’s are military, historical, demons, supernatural, romance, seinen. What’s not to like?! It also has some really good comedic scenes as well. I promise you won’t be disappointed with this one!
5. Schwarzesmarken
Anyone here like hot girls, gore, and military-mecha? I know I do! If you want to see some killer gory kill scenes then you best run off and start watching Schwarzesmarken! This is actually an alternate universe of the Muv-Luv franchise. I also really enjoyed Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, but I feel like it was a bit more tame than Schwarzesmarken. Don’t get me wrong, there was some awesome action in Muv-Luv but Schwarz was a bit more brutal in terms of gore and how things played out. It definitely plays with your “feels.”
Honorable Mentions:
91 Days
Zankyou no Terror
Seikoku no Dragonar
Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
Akuma no Riddle (Riddle Story of Devil)
Disclaimer: All imagery and photos come from searching for them on the internet. I have no claim or right to them.
Meanwhile Yukino just sat and watch youtube while her anime just kept accumulating. XD

Ooh I can’t wait to start Ergo Proxy! (Bought it a couple months back but now I finally have the free time.) And while I’m here, I do hope you’re thoroughly enjoying Gosick. It’s one of my favorites, and words can’t express how happy I am that it got re-licensed and released—with a dub, no less!

Lita sent me your way! 🙂
Good picks if you ask me. I think Dimension W gets a lot of flack for what it was. The anime was enjoyable despite its problems.
