Mid-way Monday: Fall Season Is Already Half Way Over?! What I’m Still Watching, What I’ve Dropped, And Maybe A Little Chitchat

“Can you meet me halfway, right at the borderline
Is where I’m gonna wait, for you
I’ll be looking out, night n’ day…”

Oh, excuse me! I’m just over here singing to myself as usual. I sometimes take key words from my conversations and figure out a song that matches and then I just start singing it. I actually do this quite often in real life. Keeps me entertained for the most part XD

Happy Monday my pandas! I can’t believe fall anime season is half way over. It seems like these weeks are just flying by…probably because we are getting to the end of the year. I see a lot of my fellow anime bloggers giving their first impressions of fall season and I can’t help but want to add some input of my own. I really commend you guys who take each episode and break it down bit by bit. I wish I had the time to do that! I’m busy working a full time job and going to school that any energy I have left usually goes towards eating and sleeping. This is usually the part where I pray that I turn into a cat someday =^.^= *smew smew* Man oh man! That would be the life! Sunbathing, long naps, and someone else to feed me. Sign me up pwease!

Back to the topic at hand…I ended up dropping a few shows this season which doesn’t happen that often for me. These shows were Dies Irae, Ousama Game: The Animation, URAHARA, and Evil or Live. URAHARA was dropped after the first episode because it was all over the place but I gave the others a few more episodes to impress me. Each one failed to keep my attention. I felt like I was bored and kinda dreaded when each new episode arrived. I was debating if I really wanted to continue on with these shows and after a few episodes I decided that I didn’t. I mainly dropped Ousama Game: The Animation because I read spoilers for what was causing all the deaths in the series and thought it was meh. Kinda turned out to be like Mayoiga if you ask me…but with those four shows dropped I ended up picking up Garo: Vanishing Line. This show turned out to be much more fun then the others!

My top picks for this season shouldn’t come as a surprise to you all (in terms of new series). My personal favorites include Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau (Children of the Whales), Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous), Inuyashiki, Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus Bride), and Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World. Of course I am also enjoying Blend S, Juuni TaisenNet-juu no SusumeShoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou, Konohana Kitan and Two Car. And the automatic give in’s for this season (because they are second seasons) are Kekkai Sensen and BeyondShokugeki no Souma: San no Sara, 3-gatsu no Lion. I am still undecided how I feel about Black Clover. Some aspects of the show are really good and other times I am just annoyed as fuck with Asta. I don’t know if I will stick with it especially since it is going to be 50 episodes or so. I may give up on it after awhile. We will see!

Leftover anime from summer season includes Ballroom e Youkoso (which the comedy aspects of this anime is EVERYTHING!!! I haven’t laughed this hard at an anime in a long while) and Shoukoku no Altair. Pretty sure Shoukoku no Altair is the most underrated anime this year because people have compared it to Arslan Senki (The Heroic Legend of Arslan) but Shoukoku no Altair is waaayyy better! It does take a few episodes to really get going but once you get into it HOT DAMN! Way better than I could have imagined. My anime shorts for this season include Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara (Love is Like a Cocktail) and Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji (My Marriage Partner is my Student, A Cocky Troublemaker). Viewer discretion advised on Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji (My Marriage Partner is my Student, A Cocky Troublemaker) 😉

My favorite opening song goes to Inuyashiki’s My Hero by Man with a Mission. I was trying to find the actual OP for the anime but instead we get the music video for My Hero. You can check out that song here:

My other two favorite openings this season are Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau’s Sono Saki e by RIRIKO and Net-juu no Susume’s Saturday Night Question by Megumi Nakajima. You can also check those out down below:

That’s all I have for you guys right about now. I will of course give my final thoughts once fall season ends. I also finally got to watch Genocidal Organ the last film in the Project Itoh series. I will be doing a film review of it sometime this week so keep an eye out for that! So far how are you guys liking fall season? Any stand out shows you really like? Any shows you dropped? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below! ❤

  1. While I’ve only been following Ballroom and Juni Taisen this season, they seem to keep me entertained enough, Ballroom more so since it’s way less predictable. In other news, I’m stoked for that Genocidal Organ review of yours! I just watched Harmony a week ago and loved it!

  2. As a first for me this is actually the first time I’m watching a couple of shows (I usually wait until a series is complete before I start with it). For me it’s Ancient Magus Bride that is so far the most interesting series. Beautiful animation and a great story, really enjoying it. I’m also watching Black Clover (but hating Asta’s screaming), Two Car (too many characters but not a bad show) and King’s Game. The latter is so stupid….but for some reason I can’t quit it either lol. I just want to see how it ends anyway 😊

    1. I guess the manga for Ousama Game is great but I feel like the anime is a complete let down, but what else can ya do? Lol I’m glad I stopped watching it to pick up something better. Garo Vanishing Line has been great so far 🙂 The Ancient Magus Bride, Children of the Whales, and Land of the Lustrous are by far the best story wise this season.

  3. So Im still “following” some series and by that i mean im probs on ep 1 or 3 and still want to give them a chance but we’re already in week 6 😝 the one ive most def kept up w is Recovery of an MMO Junkie and i think I’m only an ep behind for the ancient magus bride

I’m holding off on juni taisen and kinos journey. If it was a shoujo i most likely dropped it (but who knows i might binge at the end). Aaaaaaaand…i think thats it??

Oh! I dont want to give up on Black Clover but asta is so annoying! I think i might just binge it later?? But what i saw in the first 2? 3? Eps didnt impress me. Its very Naruto-like but at least his voice was a bit more bearable 👀

Im also thinking of writing a midseason post but well i need to catch up on some shows xD
