Winter Premier Round-Up: How I’m Feeling About This Anime Season…Because It’s Not Like There Isn’t Enough Of These Post Already :P

We finally made it guys. I think all of the shows (well the ones I’ve been wanting to watch) have premiered for winter anime season. I have a pretty big list this time around. Still not as big as one of my previous seasons though! I am watching 24 shows for this season, including the second half’s of ones from fall season. Do we need a reminder of the shows I’m watching again? Yes? Yes! Okay…I’ll just list all the shows I am watching so you guys can keep up.

List of shows I’m watching for winter season:

  1. Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen
  2. Citrus
  3. Beatless
  4. Dagashi Kashi 2
  5. Dame X Prince Anime Caravan
  6. Darling in the FranXX
  7. Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku
  8. Gakuen Babysitters
  9. Garo: Vanishing Line
  10. Hakumei to Mikochi
  11. Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san
  12. Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
  13. Kokkoku
  14. Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus Bride)
  15. Miira no Kaikata
  16. Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu (Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments)
  17. Overlord Season 2
  18. Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san
  19. Ryuuou no Oshigoto!
  20. Sora yori mo Tooi Basho
  21. Violet Evergarden
  22. Yuru Camp
  23. 25-sai no Joshikousei
  24. 3-gatsu no Lion (March Comes in like a Lion Season 2)

That is one tall order to fill! Anyone else watching this many shows as well? I always feel like I am one of the very few people who watch this many at once. What can I say? I like a challenge! XD

So what are my feeling thus far? I have to say I am quite impressed with a number of these shows so far. I tried to pick ones that seemed less predictable and cliche (but God knows most anime is these days…it’s inescapable).

But this season is waaayyy more promising than fall season! Some of the fall series were just atrocious pieces of garbage that we will never speak of again. I know everyone has their own personal taste, so some of these shows won’t work for everyone but I quite like them all. I guess we won’t really know how good they are until they get fleshed out as the stories progress. There is always room for improvement and there is always opportunity to fail. I’m trying to think positive here!

Also can I just take a second to say what in the actual fuck was Devilman Crybaby trying to prove?! I took time out of my weekend to watch this Netflix premier and I couldn’t believe my eyeballs. This show was a train wreck from the moment I started it. I am not saying it’s bad in the least, I’m just confused and scratching my head as to what the hell went on. I have to admit I haven’t seen the original Devilman (everyone says Crybaby is a lot tamer than the original so it makes me want to watch the old one even more now). Honestly, I wanted the ending to be a little better but I get why they went the route they did. But man oh man! That shit was brutal to the MAX! If you’re interested in watching it I do have to warn you there is a HIGH amount of sexually explicit content (like explicit explicit) and brutality you wouldn’t get elsewhere. I wonder how many drugs the creators were on when they made this show? Lolololz

Oh! My favorite openings for the season (right now) are Kokkoku’s Flashback and Cardcaptor Sakura’s Clear. I’ll leave them down below if you haven’t had time to enjoy them yet 😀

Disclaimer: All imagery and photos come from searching for them on the internet. I have no claim or right to them.

  1. Wow, 24 shows! That is seriously amazing. I wish I had that much time, but I’m glad to be able to follow four shows. In between my dayjob and other stuff I want to keep up with, it’s about the best I can manage. But there are definitely some cool shows to watch right now, completely agree. Good luck on keeping up with this challenge, and have fun watching 😀

    1. Honestly I probably could watch more as long as they stayed weekly. I don’t think I could do it if all the episodes of the series was out XD that would be more of a challenge. And thank you for the well wishes! I always enjoy seeing your comments pop up 🙂

  2. Are you going to/have you watched Devilman Crybaby on Netflix yet? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts as I binged all of it yesterday. (I’ll probably be writing my thoughts on it soon.)
