Yes, that’s right my pandas! I got to interview the one and only Josie from itsaanimething. She is most known for her Anime Minute episodes over on YouTube where she gives you a run down of all anime/otaku related content in just one minute! Speaking of which…go subscribe to her channel right now. All you have to do is click here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeGngasXFSL6PB4fs5pTRCg.
I am so honored to have such a bright and talented creator on my blog! I have been following Josie for some time now on social media and I knew I had to do a collab with her. It feels nice branching out and having fellow anime bloggers, vloggers, and creators on my site. I always love promoting other people’s content and I am happy to share their work with the world. Us anime folks have to stick together you know.
So in this post I asked Josie ten different interview questions and she asked me ten questions as well. I felt like it was a good way for us to get to know each other a little better. Y’all ready to get this party started?! We will kick things off with the questions I asked Josie first.
1. What was the reasoning behind starting The Anime Minute?
Josie: It was actually a suggestion from my friend Bruce (my podcast partner) and he literally just came to me one day and told me “get dressed we’re doing this” and BOY was I scared out of my mind.
2. Which anime character most resembles you? It can be either appearance or personality wise.
Josie: I kind of relate to Weiss Schnee (RWBY) in the sense that I’ve been going on this path where people are trying to tell me to take a path they want me to take and I’m trying to change myself and actually live my life the way I want to, which is why I really resonate with the song “This Life is Mine.”
3. What upcoming anime are you most looking forward to?
Josie: I’m definitely excited for the 3rd season of AOT! It’s been too long!
4. If you could alter the ending of an anime/manga which one would it be and why?
Josie: Honestly, I wasn’t too fond of the ending of the “A Silent Voice” manga since Shouya is still oblivious to his own feelings but at the same time it’s so pure so I’m not entirely sure. Another would be DragonBall GT. I didn’t really like that ending all that much because I didn’t think it made sense for Goku to just disappear and go off with Shenron.
5. What anime animal sidekick would you want to have as your own?
Josie: I WANT A PIKACHU!!! HES THE ULTIMATE SIDEKICK TO ME.
6. Which anime genre do you relate to the most?
Josie: Romance…I’m a huge romantic on the inside.
7. If you could write a manga what would you want the title to be?
Josie: Hmm…never really thought about that. “In Another Life” sounds cool.
8. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Do you want The Anime Minute to grow into a larger platform?
Josie: I would like the Minute to still be a Youtube thing, but I definitely want it to look like an actual news show as time goes on. I’m hoping that, in general, the things that I’m doing will get bigger and have more recognition in the next five years, so that’s definitely something I’m looking forward to!
9. What do your parents think of you being an anime fan?
Josie: THEY SUPPORT ME ON THIS! It’s the weirdest thing. They even watch anime with me from time to time, and they’re glad that I’m working towards something that makes me happy.
10. And lastly which anime or manga series is your favorite?
Josie: I think each anime/manga I’ve seen has something that holds a special place in my heart, so I can’t really choose a favorite. There’s so many that it’d be a huge inner debate to see which is a favorite.
Bonus question: Which anime character do you want to cosplay as if given the opportunity right now?
Josie: Probably Neo or Blake from RWBY.
And now for the questions Josie asked me!
1. How old were you when you started watching anime and what was the first anime you watched?
Ayano: My earliest memories of anime have to be when I was about 7 or 8. I remember watching Sailor Moon, CardCaptor Sakura, Digimon and Pokemon. You used to be able to watch all of these Saturday mornings on basic cable. I was always up at the crack of dawn ready for the newest episode. My first anime love is definitely credited to Sailor Moon ❤
2. Favorite genre and why?
Ayano: My favorite genre would have to be drama/romance anime. I really resonate with bittersweet anime for some reason. Probably because I have experienced a lot of emotional trauma throughout my life. That, and I’m also a hopeless romantic at heart. I always want the main character to end up with their love interest. My other favorite genre would have to be psychological anime. Nothing like a great anime that makes you question your perception of reality!
3. Least favorite genre and why?
Ayano: My least favorite is probably shounen. I’m kinda getting burnt out on all the super hero stuff or the typical “MC trying to be the best at something” series. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy some series, because I do, I’m just ready for some fresh shows not like anything else.
4. A character you relate to the most?
Ayano: Hmmm…that’s a tough one. I don’t see my whole self in just one anime character but I think the one character I relate to would be Usagi from Sailor Moon. I’m an emotional crybaby a lot of the time XD
5. Would you go to the anime world or would you bring your favorite characters to our world?
Ayano: Can I do both? I think it would be cool to experience an anime world but it would also be loads of fun to have anime characters come here.
6. Why did you start your blog?
Ayano: I actually used to book blogging before I did anime blogging. I was also doing the bookstagram thing as well for awhile. My other love is books but anime is my real passion. Hence, why I switched over to blogging about otaku related content.
7. What do you do for inspiration for your posts when you run out of ideas?
Ayano: I try to find inspiration from other people’s post. I also just come up with random ideas while I’m watching anime. I usually don’t run into road blocks but if I do I see what other people have going on.
8. Would you start a YouTube channel or podcast about anime?
Ayano: I have been actually wanting to start a YouTube channel. Hopefully I can sometime in the future.
9. If so, what subject would you talk about?
Ayano: It would probably be me vlogging and talking about anime. I would like to get some good quality content out there for you guys.
10. Who’s the REAL BEST GIRL in your opinion?
Ayano: Gaaahhh…soooo many good options out there for best girl. Some of my favorites include Rias from Highschool DXD, Saeko from High School of the Dead, Moka from Rosario + Vampire, Saya from Blood C, and Magane from Re:CREATORS.
Bonus question: Which character would you switch bodies with?
Ayano: I’d probably would want to switch bodies with Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs so I can experience all his bad ass glory.
ANNNDDD that is it for today’s post! I hope you all enjoyed today’s collab with Josie and I. I know I had a lot of fun with getting this post together.
