Fears are a very interesting thing to me. Like people have a fear of almost or probably everything. The fear of dogs, clowns, death, height, vomit, blood, people, babies, etc. We also tend to fear the unknown. Monsters, aliens, things that we can not explain. Why does this happen to us? And how can people exploit this? Or can they make you fear something as simple as a pattern? Cus there is a mangaka that can make you afraid of the spiral.
Junji Ito is the best horror mangaka to ever exist. He is one of my 4 favorite Japanese artists. His works are beautifully drawn and his stories are haunting. Most of them are short stories. But there are three long series. Gyo, Tomie, and Uzumaki.
Today we are talking about Uzumaki. Which is a fucking masterpiece. For those who doesn’t know what Uzumaki means, it means spiral. As in the pattern. So what is this series about? Well the story follows Kirie Goshima (who is my manga waifu) and her boyfriend Shuichi Saito in the town of Kurōzu-cho.
Weird events start happening in this town, all having to do with spirals. It starts off with Shuichi’s father’s weird obsession with spirals. Then it starts getting crazier and crazier. The spirals start consuming the town and crazy shit happens. I won’t spoil it for you.
By the end of the manga, you will be mind fucked and see spirals different. It’s well done and the art is godly. And Kirie is a FUCKING CUTIE!!!! Give it a read if you haven’t. You won’t regret it. And i know that i have been doing a lot of horror themed reviews. Don’t worry, I’m doing a fun anime review next.
Thank you for joining me today. I’ll catch you all next week!

I have an irrational fear of wasps. Seriously when I see one wasp come close, I start to lose it, and turn over tables in order to get away lol😂😂
Anyways enough about that! Because wow, this was one seriously cool post. I’m a huge horrorfan, and I haven’t yet had a chance to check this one out! 😊 It sounds amazingly cool, and the art looks absolutely stunning! Thanks so much for writing this one: I’m going to do my best to track this down, as the story just sounds incredibly intriguing!
