Happy New Year my pandas and welcome to the first post of 2020! We have finally made it to the new year and you know what that means right? A NEW WATCH SEASON FOR ANIME! Winter anime season has finally made an appearance and it will be kicking off in just a few short days. I’m not sure if I want to completely let go of autumn season…cause we had some AMAZING series that came out…but we have to let go of the old to make way for the new! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve. I was working so I had to usher in the new year while in my work car. Eh…they all can’t be winners right? Right. Now that 2020 has blown in it is only a few more weeks till the big 30 for me…but you guys already know that since I posted about it on Monday. I need to stop repeating myself…it’s probably the old age getting the best of me XD
Today’s post is all about what I will be watching for winter season. This post will NOT include the leftovers of My Hero Academia season 4, Blade of the Immortal, The Seven Deadly Sins season 3 and Kabukicho Sherlock. Today is all about the new new. You all know how these post go. I will post the anime title, anime trailer (if I can find one), and the summary of that anime. Pretty easy peasy lemon squeezy! These are mainly written for me to keep track of the series I’m interested in watching and for you guys to get an idea of what is floating around for next watch season. So…let’s get dive into some anime shall we?!

Anime Synopsis: “The psychic suspense story revolves around people who possess the ability to infiltrate people’s minds and manipulate memories. Their powers have been used in the underworld for covering up incidents, assassinations, and other deeds. These powers can not only destroy other people’s spirits, but also corrupt the users’ own hearts at the same time. The users had to protect their fragile and insecure hearts, as if chained to each other. They are called “pets” out of fear and despising.”
2. Somali and the Forest Spirit
Anime Synopsis: “The world is ruled by spirits, goblins and all manner of strange creatures. Human beings are persecuted, to the very point of extinction. One day, a golem and a lone human girl meet. This is a record of the pair; one a member of a ruined race, the other a watchman of the forest. It tells of their travels together, and of the bond between father and daughter.”
Anime Synopsis: “At the young age of 11, Kotoko Iwanaga was abducted by youkai for two weeks and asked to become their “God of Wisdom,” a mediator between the spirit and human worlds, to which the girl quickly agreed but at the cost of her right eye and left leg. Now, six years later, whenever youkai wish for their problems to be solved, they make their way to Kotoko for consultation. Meanwhile, Kurou Sakuragawa, a 22-year-old university student, has just broken up with his girlfriend after he fled alone when the two encountered a kappa. Seeing this as her chance to become closer with him, Kotoko immediately makes her move, hoping to get married to Kurou one day. However, she quickly realizes there is something more to Kurou. With this knowledge, she asks for his help in solving the various issues presented by the supernatural, all the while wishing her newfound partner will eventually reciprocate her feelings.”
Anime Synopsis: “The story revolves around Kaiman, who does not remember who he was before he was transfigured by a Magic user. This transformation left him with a reptile’s head, and a desire to find out the truth about who he really is. Accompanied by Nikaido, his female companion, he tracks down Magic Users in “The Hole” and unceremoniously chomps down on their head, hoping to find out who it was that put him in this state. One by one, they witness this “second man” inside the head of Kaiman, and after pulling them back out of his mouth he asks them all a question… “What did the guy inside my head say?”
5. Toilet-bound Hanako-kun
Anime Synopsis: “It is said that “Hanako-san” lives in the girl’s toilet on the 3rd floor in the old school building and will grant anyone a wish for a price. Yashiro Nene goes looking for “Hanako-san” in the hopes for a successful love encounter, but the one that she meets is completely different from what she imagined.”
6. ID: Invaded
Anime Synopsis: “The virtual world of ID: Invaded is full of tumbling, floating houses, colliding masses of land, and disappearing structures. Sakaido, a detective, finds himself in this world, and is quickly tasked with unraveling the murder of Kaeru, a young girl who was fatally stabbed. Soon it becomes apparent that the unconventional physical rules of the new world aren’t limited to buildings or roads since Sakaido’s body also presents various states of disconnection.”
7. Koisuru Asteroid
Anime Synopsis: “When she was little, Mira Kinohata met a boy named Ao at a town camping. While gazing at the starry sky together, Mira learns that there’s a star with the same name as herself, but no star named Ao. The two then promised to one day explore asteroids together and find a star to name it after him. Several years later, Mira enrolls at the Hoshizaki high school and decides to join the astronomy club to fulfill her promise. However, she learns that the astronomy club will be merged with the geological research society to form the earth science club. Reluctantly, Mira goes to the club room and is reunited with Ao Manaka—the person she made the promise to explore asteroids with—and is shocked to learn that she is a girl. The two are joined by upperclassmen Mai Inose and Sakurai Mikage, a second and third year student from the geological research society, and Mari Morino, a third year student from the astronomy club.”
8. Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!
Anime Synopsis: “The story follows Midori, Tsubame, and Sayaka, an energetic trio of first-year high school girls who come together in the Eizouken (Video Research Club) to turn their anime dreams into a reality. Midori is nervous to create an anime alone. She meets Tsubame who appears to be a well-to-do girl but she really has artistic dreams of being an animator. Midori’s best friend Sayaka has the financial sense to bring the project to fruition and joins the pair on their quest.”
9. Smile Down the Runway
Anime Synopsis: “Chiyuki Fujito has a dream: to become a Paris Collection model. The problem is, she’s too short to be a model, and everyone around her tells her so! But no matter what they say, she won’t give up. Her classmate, a poor student named Ikuto Tsumura, also has a dream: to become a fashion designer. One day Chiyuki tells him that it’s “probably impossible” for him, causing him to consider giving it up…?! This is the story of two individuals wholeheartedly chasing after their dreams in spite of all the negativity that comes after them!”
10. Seton Academy: Join the Pack!
Anime Synopsis: “Seton Academy, a school full of animals where, thanks to population decline, there are fewer humans than any other creature. Mazama Jin, an animal hater and the only human male in his class, falls in love with Hino Hitomi, the only female human, the moment he lays eyes her. However he soon finds himself entangled with various other creatures after he reluctantly joins the ‘pack’ of Lanka the wolf, the only other member of her pack.”
11. The Case Files of Jeweler Richard
Anime Synopsis: “The ‘heartwarming jewel mystery’ series centers on the handsome jewelry appraiser Richard Ranashinha Dvorpian and the bright and cheerful college student Seigi Nakata as they uncover the hidden messages that lie within jewels while they solve various jewel-related cases by unraveling the hidden psychological aspects of their owners that lie within the gems.”
12. Heya Camp (Short)
Anime Synopsis: “The Outclub goes on a journey! The Outdoor Activities Club, Aka, the Outclub has 3 members. In the countryside of Yamanashi Prefecture, there’s a high school named Motosu High School. Go even further to one of the school buildings and you’ll find a very laid-back outdoor club that uses one corner of the classroom as their club room. Kagamihara Nadeshiko finally wants to kill some time in their club room, but then Ohgaki Chiaki and Inuyama Aoi suddenly announce that they’re all going on a trip. They drag the confused Nadeshiko with them and the Outclub hustles all through Yamanashi. The girls enjoy the various local treats as they travel around, but where in the world is the end destination for this trip?!”
13. Natsunagu! (Short)

Anime Synopsis: “The story follows the coming-of-age of Natsuna Keyaki, a college student from Tokyo who goes to Kumamoto after losing contact with her friend after the 2016 earthquakes. There, she meets individuals with colorful personalities, such as middle school girl Izumi, who begin to light a passion in Natsuna.”
Anime I Want to Watch But Am Still Unsure About:
Anime Synopsis: “22/7 (nanabun no nijyuuni) is a digital idol and voice actors’ project produced by the famous producer Yasushi Akimoto. In this animation series, the audience will witness the secrets behind the group’s debut and the story leading up to their creation via the difference viewpoints of each member. What is important is to believe in yourself and take a step forward…”
And here I thought I was gonna have a smaller watch list this time around. I’m a fool lolololz I’m basically at the same amount as autumn anime season. Hopefully I can keep up with this watch season as well. I was struggling to complete 18 shows last season. If you have taken a look at winter season what shows have you picked to watch?
